A little bit over the top for my taste Would read a few pages, then I would get bored, so I d skim a few pages It didn t take long for me to finish the book Glad I didn t spend too much time on it.
Love at first sight connection was well played they both realized how alike and how smart the other was It was good read Sono arrivata a leggerne circa un terzo, poi sono andata avanti in modalit skipping pages I truly enjoyed the characters of this book and the story as well The banter is witty, the romance credible and all in all I enjoyed reading it The Dangerous Debutante is book two in Michaels Romney Marsh Trilogy This story centers around Morgan Becket and Ethan Tanner the Earl of Aylesford.
Morgan meets Ethan on her way to her brother s home in London The two have chemistry than any couple has a right two and they enjoy stirring up trouble with the ton, even though Morgan only stays in London for about a week, mostly because her brother Chance and his with Julia are at their wits end trying to figure out how to deal with her and her lust for Ethan The two are very much alike as Morgan often says Like recognizes like The book s strong point revolves around Morgan and Ethan s characters Its not often that two characters connect from the beginning The only tension between them is sexual.
The only thing that bothered me was how Morgan s family wasn t developed nearly enough We know that there s something mysterious about them, but everything is cloaked in mystery If you haven t read the first book in the series and I hadn t you are left wondering what is going on with the Becket s.
More in the Becket Arc I m facinated at the arc going through a number of books then a trilogy at the foundation a strong family of people not really related to each other Set in England during the years just before and during Napoleon s second attempt at power This book is before Napoleon s escape.
This book is focused on Morgan A woman who doesn t think she can overcome the past she doesn t remember But know s she doesn t fit in the typical mold.
This is the first book that I read in this series and I loved it so much that I had to read the rest of the series.
In 1812 Captain Ainsley Becket sends his adopted daughter Morgan from their home in Romney Marsh to London to have a season sponsored by his oldest adopted son Chance and his wife Julia see A GENTLEMAN BY ANY OTHER NAME though he fears for the Ton when the outrageous high spirited woman takes the city On the trek, Morgan decides she needs to ride her horse over the objection of her servant This break from societal rules enables her to meet an Earl, Ethan Tanner of Tanner s Roost.
Attracted to her beauty, intelligence and lan, Ethan persuades her to come to his estate so that she can prepare properly for her arrival in London with him as her escort In fact he wants her to meet his eccentric mom who runs off any eligible female with her zany behavior Instead Morgan and Lady Tanner hit it off as kindred sisters As they make love and fall in love, Ethan wants to marry Morgan, but she refuses as she feels she is beneath his position in society as he an Earl and she an adopted street urchin.
The second Beckets of Romney Marsh is a wonderful Regency romance starring a wild female daredevil and the Earl who matches her zaniness after all it is in his blood The story line focuses on their relationship as everyone including Ethan wants Morgan married to him that is everyone except her She assumes that you can take the girl out of the street, but you can t take the street out of the girl The tale focuses on Ethan s efforts to convince her that he does not care using his eccentric mom as his proof Kasey Michaels is two for two so far in what is proving to be an amusing well written historical seri Had a lot of trouble just liking Morgan She was spoiled, willful, and inconsiderate However she does improve and grow throughout the story Ethan was a lot likeable, and that may be because he was mature than she was This is the second book in the series and the auther still has not told us what the Beckett family s great secret is There are hints and clues but it looks like I shall have to read of the books to get the rest of the story.
