and because of the ex, and a lot of times his mother that s exactly what James felt like My heart really broke for him, at times Through getting to know one another, after meeting at a club, Trevor was amazing with James, and James really took to Trevor It was like the trust was immediate and he became smitten rather quickly Trevor deserved it though There was once or twice I doubted, but I shouldn t have He was so good for James I also loved Trevors friend Brent I hope he finds someone and we get to see it I also felt for his other friend, Dean, but I m not so sure of him I felt sorry for him for a minute but then didn t care much for him towards the end At least he had his dad, Brent and a slew of loyal workers there for him Even if one of them did screw him over, pretty good More than once and often The whole story wasn t angsty, which I love and we get a lot of closure by the end I won t go into detail and ruin it for everyone, but I will tell you that you ll fall in love with these characters and you ll love them so much for how much they love each other I feel like they needed each other and came for each other at the exact time that they shoulda I adored every part of it and the ending was as sweet and comforting as I could ve hoped Don t pass this one up It s so heartwarming and sweet Just like all of Andrew Grey reads read it You won t be sorry 4 stars for me I received this story from the publisher in the promise of an honest an unbiased review Andrew Grey excels at writing sweet, relatively low angst love stories This is no different Heart Unseen didn t deliver any surprises, and was a bit over the top and cheesy at times, but it s an easy read and an even better listen.
Greg Tremblay does such a great job bringing Trevor and James to life His character voices, timing, and pacing are terrific and so easy to listen to He made this seven plus hour audiobook fly by I wanted to wrap up James and Trevor in a big hug by the end of this story I loved the dual POV and how Trevor turned completely around in attitude from a diehard commitment phobe to being so romantic and completely all in with making James feel safe and loved My only complaint is I would ve really liked some closure of the plot points regarding Alan or the business a lot than I needed the follow up on Chase.
All in all this was an entertaining romance with terrific narration Audio copy of Heart Unseen provided by Dreamspinner Press in exchange of an honest review.

75 stars This is my first time reading a work by Andrew Grey and I can say that I genuinely enjoyed the story It was fluid, even though there was not much going on in the story, it still managed to suck me in so to speak First thing I noticed was the lack of any cuss words which is unusual to me since many an author use them in contemporary romance quite often so his use of words was very interesting It also felt that Mr Grey did a lot research about blindness and how it affects everyday life of a person I loved it for the most part except where sometimes in James monologues it almost sounded like an excerpt from a Guide to Blind People the tone was a little like reciting from a book and not coming from a character And both MCs I think needed a little dirtying up, just a tad naughtiness between them would have been awesome Otherwise this was a low angst, sweet and cute romance between two men who were once burned in their respective relationships and needed to learn to trust and love again The character development is wonderful, the narrative is light and easy to read, the story itself is engaging and the secondary characters give this book a wholesome feeling like curling under a blanket and getting comfy while it s raining outside, and you hear your neighbors getting caught wet in that rain sniggers I liked this book and I will continue with the series.
I was given a copy of this book to read and review for Wicked Reads So this is the sugary sweet Hallmark Channel version of m m romance James is a saintly blind man who finds love with Trevor, a gorgeous club kid and successful mechanic Trevor manages to fill multiple fantasies He is a gym rat and nightclub playboy He is also a a mechanic, a business owner and he rides a Harley At the start of the book, he stalks a nightclub, certain that every man in the place wants him He is arrogant than confident and I really struggled to like him at the start He gets likeable as things happen to shake his confidence but he really isn t a favourite leading man.
James is far too perfect for me The beautiful blind man works to help kids adjust to their sight loss He is a perfect brother, son and uncle He is timid and shy with men And he talks like a fifty year old His language is always formal, polite and self effacing It really did my head in after a while I found the language in this whole book choppy but it was the dialogue that most annoyed me Trevor, James and their friends don t sound like Millennial twenty something guys Trevor is supposed to be a complete player but we never see it At times, this felt like a information booklet about living independently as a blind person James life is interesting but I wanted romance and less instruction I kept waiting to understand the spark between James and Trevor and I wanted a reason to believe in them as a couple These two care for each other very sweetly but I didn t feel any chemistry and it was hard to believe in these two as soul mates and partners Andrew Grey is a hit and miss author for me I have loved some of his books and struggled with others This is one of the stories I ve struggled with My preferences are probably personal The writing style didn t work for me I like a little grit and angst with my sugar and I m not a huge fan of cute Other readers should download a sample and make up their own minds.
5 starsLike all Grey s books I ve read, this one started out very promising but turned way too sappy, even boring, at some point I m not sure why I continue reading his books as I ve yet to really love one, but the fact that they re predictable and sweet is a comfort itself, like that roast chicken that I don t exactly love but carries childhood memories and makes me feel full and comforted whenever I have it So I think I ll read a few in the future Ich w nschte, Andrew w rde immer diese Art von B chern schreiben, dann h tte er in mir einen ganz gro en Fan, denn die Geschichte von James und Trevor ist einfach nur zum Wegtr umen.
5 Stars I ve noticed something interesting about author Andrew Grey He writes imperfectly perfect characters I ve seen him write love stories for paraplegics, burn victims, characters with some sort of mental diagnosis, and now a character who is blind I have to say it s very welcoming It s rare we see this for some reason but Andrew Grey doesn t shy away from it, he embraces it.
Heart Unseen is a sweet and beautiful love story about a gorgeous man who gets anyone he wants just by winking at them and a man who can t see him but knows he s beautiful on the inside I loved the whole concept of this story I loved that James knew how gorgeous Trevor was from seeing with his hands as James s cute nephew called it But I loved even that James fell in love with who Trevor was on the inside James had it rough, with losing his sight at the age of twelve, he remembers what it was like to see Andrew Grey touches on things about James that we may not think of Like how cautious he has to be when he eats, how nothing can be moved on him, how all his senses are heightened It was interesting seeing the world through James s eyes.
Trevor had a heartbreaking past One that turned him into the man slut James falls in love with It takes a while to get to what happened to Trevor but we do get there It s only in that revelation do we see how perfect these two are for each other and how grateful you feel that they found one another.
I enjoyed this book and all the dips and turns it took A little action suspense is thrown in there which was quite the exciting surprise But ultimately this is a story about feeling love and trusting it.
Trevor s a mechanic and a successful business owner of many mechanic shops He s a regular at the clubs where he s always looking for someone for the night but never the someone for forever He s been hurt in the past and still struggles with those hurts and has no plans of changing for anyone That is until he see s James sitting all by his lonesome He s attractive to James and is pretty confident that once James gets a good look at him it ll be a done deal But James seems to look through him and doesn t seem interested in Trevor s jock melting smile or is impressive build Feeling like he struck out on the hottest guy he s ever seen Trevor joins his friends again feeling shocked by rejection That is until he finds out James is blind He thinks about letting it go, but he feels a pull to James and decides to try again James has been burnt pretty badly in the past by a relationship and has a hard time trusting Trevor s intentions especially since he knows Trevor has been quite the man whore But he feels a connection to the man and wants to fit in his life and not be a burden to him With his overbearing mother running interference and insecurities running high on both sides both men try to work their way into each other s lives and find love The ending was a bit much for me and I think it was just unnecessary drama I could have done without that mess.
In the end I did enjoy it and found it to be a sugary sweet story.
